My character designs for the artstation's challenge the Feudal Japan: The Shogunate. The Geisha and the Shogun.
In my design I chose yokais for each of my characters. Pairing (external features) with yokais:
Geisha: Tennyo and Nukekubi
Shogun: Byakko and Karura
